The Lord of Mad Mansion

This adventure adapts the The Man Who Loved Planks by Malcolm Jameson, published in Weird Tales (March 1941)

The Lord of Mad Mansion, Enoch Warren, has been found dead cradling a plank of wood in his arms. Enoch’s secret is that he shut-down his lumber business when he fell in love with a dryad. The dryad appeared to him mangled, cut, and disfigured - one of the many victims of Enoch’s trade, being turned into timbers and sent across the lands. The slicing, nailing, and bending of the wood planks caused great pain and torture to the dyads, but it never killed their spirits outright. Only fire would set them free, and so Enoch began tracking down chests, cabinets, nightstands, and all the like in order to tear them apart to planks. Using wire and glue he remade trees plank by plank, then burned them to set the dryads free. He was close to finishing the tree of the dryad he loved, and her two sister trees, but he was caught stealing the precious furniture he needed. 

The PCs are tasked with retrieving the stolen furniture before Enoch's mansion is ransacked by an angry mob. Will they be able to finish Enoch's work and earn the Oath of the Drayd's? Or will they be caught flatfooted looting and held in contempt by the mob? 

The Lord of Mad Mansion is intended for a party of lvl 4-5 characters, and recommended to have a party size of 4 or greater. Maps, tokens, and Foundry VTT map import available in the zip.
